About Us
  • WHO ARE WE?

At Messiah Fellowship we emphasize fellowship with our Heavenly Father, our Creator, with His Son, our Messiah as our King, and with fellow Believers “…with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,  and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (shalom). There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called…Ephesians 4:2-4

Yeshua “…is the head of the body, the assembly; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”      Colossians 1:18

We are men and women who are dedicated to living our lives just as our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) lived His.
He is our example in all things.

“…Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.  He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.  He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. ” I John 2:3-6 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Messiah also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” Ephesians 5:1-2 “For you have been called for this purpose, since Messiah also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, Who committed no sin nor was any deceit found in his mouth…” 1 Peter 2:21-22

Therefore, we strive to follow Yeshua in his obedience to the word of God, our Father. We are His disciples or “talmadim”,in Hebrew
To be a talmadim we must be completely devoted to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and to His one and only son, Yeshua (Jesus), in every aspect of our lives, everyday.
We must be fixated on learning scripture, and to putting every word into action to the best of our ability, just as Yeshua our Messiah did.
As a Talmadim we must repent of sin, which is the breaking of the Law/Torah of God, and labor to be sinless, just as Yeshua was. We acknowledge that, apart from our Messiah, “… all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…Romans 3:23,  so we know that sinlessness is only possible through the Blood of the perfect One, Yeshua. Still we endeavor to be like Him. “…And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Messiah is pure. Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness. But you know that Messiah appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin…” John 3:3-5
Yeshua Messiah’s goal was to please His Father in every way. So it is with us, His talmadim.  Yeshua said, “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father Who sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” John12:49  “…It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God (the Father).” Mathew 4:4 “… I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. ” John 5:30 “…And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” John 8:29  “…But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do…” John 14:31

As talmadim, we depend on our Heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, and pray for guidance in every aspect of life, inviting the power of His Holy Spirit/Ruach Ha Kodesh to enable us to overcome sin in our lives. His Spirit is His Power!

As we become more like Messiah, we find our identity in Him. Yeshua was an Israelite, of the tribe of Judah, so as His talmadim, we see ourselves in the same way. As well, we adopt the customs and traditions of the scriptures, as are seen in the Holy Days of God, listed in Leviticus 23, just as Yeshua did. Believers in Yeshua enjoy gathering with other disciples and becoming a community under His Kingship.”…And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

We believe that if we are to rule with King Messiah in the future we must learn to be a community that abides by our Father’s laws and lives by His right rulings now. Every successful Kingdom has laws which are a structure and expectation of societal behavior.

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Yeshua and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Messiah a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were coming to an end.) This is the first resurrection.  Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Messiah and will reign with him for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4-6

We are learning to live in obedience to our Father’s word and to use the gifts God has given each of us to serve each other in the body of Messiah now and into eternity.

Yeshua called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—  just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mat 20:25-28

At Messiah Fellowship we believe the “title” of “servant” is most important. Each member of the body functions as they are gifted by God. Rather than emphasize any particular “title” or “gift” we prefer to see ourselves and others simply as servants of the Most High God. It is not important who people think we are, according to a title, but rather that they see what we DO to serve God and others. Our goal is to elevate our Father and our Messiah, not ourselves.

Yeshua made a point to express his hatred for the deeds of the nicolaitons, men ruling over men, elevating themselves. Revelation 2:6  “Yeshua called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,  and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—  just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”  Mat.20:25-28

“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Messiah. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.

If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Now you are the body of  Messiah, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the Messianic community: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.” I Cor. 12:12-27

Each gift given by God is equally important in our Father’s eyes. At Messiah Fellowship, we desire to encourage each member to realize the gifts they’ve been given and to use them to serve the body. Ultimately, the Body of Messiah is a family so each family member will fit in the body just as they should. It will all happen naturally. Gifts and acts of service will be seen and appreciated by all.

This is who we are and who we hope to be.
